This is my monoprint. Before making our final we did an experimental print just to get a feel for the materials. The first step was covering the gelli plate with the ink we wanted as our backround, usually starting with the lightest color. We placed our paper over the plate to transfer the ink. After the first layer, we chose a different color ink and covered the plate using a brayer. Then we set our shapes down where we wanted them. We placed the paper on the plate again and transferred it. I chose 3 colors so I repeated those steps again and placed the shapes in places different then the first ones. For the final we did the same steps but we had to choose a color scheme we wanted to use. I chose monochromatic and did light and dark shades of blue. I like how mine turned out but if I could change something I would of made the shades not as close in color.
